Stellahouse

The first of three, named after my sweet boxer, is now accepting guests through VRBO.

Stellahouse is situated on 43 wooded acres of hilly land. You are able to drive to within 125' of the treehouse. From there the walk is a bit sloped, to flat and staired areas, to a bridge traversing 50' to the stairs leading up to the entry and 8' x 12' screen porch.

There is a gondola to carry your luggage, groceries, ski boots, etc. to the deck.

As you enter the cathedral ceiling living room through the screen porch, the kitchen with full size stainless steel appliances is directly ahead. To the right you'll find a bedroom with bunk beds and a bathroom I only wish I had in my house!

Decks wrap around three sides of Stellahouse, one of which holds a full-size hot tub.

Stained glass windows adorn the winding staircase to the master bedroom. A king size bed, birch railing balcony overlooking the living room and two upholstered swivel chairs peer through a huge casement window to the forest floor 30' below.

Things to Do

Western Maine has an abundance of outdoor activities for all seasons. Alpine and cross-country skiing are nearby at Sunday River, Black Mountain, and Mt. Abram. We have many lakes and rivers for water sports, boating, fishing kayaking, and relaxing. Hiking is everywhere and within an hour or so are the White Mountains Presidential Range, Appalachian Trail, and Rangeley. The quaint towns of Bethel and Rumford are close by for shopping and dining.(Bethel is a local foodie paradise!)
